Don Q Caliche is far from your average white rum. It is a "super-premium" collaboration between two giants of industry: Roberto Serrallés, a sixth-generation rum maker from Puerto Rico’s famed Destilería Serrallés, and Rande Gerber, the legendary nightlife entrepreneur behind the Gerber Group and Casamigos. Named after a type of sedimentary rock that binds diverse materials together, Caliche represents the "bonding" of traditional rum heritage with a sleek, modern cocktail sensibility.

Unlike most clear rums which are unaged, Caliche is a sophisticated blend of four different rums aged for 3, 4, and 5 years, including a portion of Solera-aged rum from a three-layer system. After aging in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, the liquid undergoes a masterful five-fold distillation and meticulous charcoal filtration. This process strips away the amber color imparted by the wood while leaving the rich, "rummy" structure and complex oak flavors intact.
