Banhez Tobalá is a prestigious expression from the Banhez cooperative, a union of over 35 families dedicated to the sustainable and fair-trade production of artisanal Mezcal. This varietal release is crafted from 100% Tobalá agave (Agave potatorum), a wild species often referred to as the "King of Agaves" due to its small physical size and the incredible complexity of the spirit it produces.

Tobalá is a revered species that grows in high-altitude, rocky soils and can take anywhere from 12 to 30 years to reach maturity. Because of its low yield and the difficulty of harvest, Banhez Tobalá is produced in limited quantities, making it a prized addition to any serious agave collection. It is a mezcal that prioritises elegance and aromatics over heavy smoke.
